CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a hands-on therapy, where the touch is gentle, non-invasive and usually subtle. But do not be fooled! It is also a powerful therapy that affects the central nervous system to assist in improving function in the whole body.

Orthopedic & Sports Bodywork

Various active and passive techniques may be used to bring the body into better alignment after injury or surgery and ease the stresses and strains of everyday life by decreasing pain and swelling and relaxing affected areas of the body.

Stacey has more than 30 years of experience as a nurse and athletic trainer in outpatient settings. Her practice grew out of a desire to share with others the profound effects Craniosacral Therapy had on her own health and sense of well-being. Stacey incorporates CranioSacral Therapy and its gentle supportive nature to complement her knowledge of sports medicine and orthopedic surgery recovery.

Stacey has had extensive experience working with student-athletes at the NCAA Division 1 Level. For the last 15 years, she has worked in a large orthopedic surgery practice where her focus has been sports medicine and shoulder, hip, and knee replacement.

The foundations of Stacey’s practice are ‘cura personalis’, or care of the whole person, respect for each person’s capacity for self-correction and healing, and supporting growth through all seasons and circumstances of life.

Welcoming clients aged 14 years and up.

Catherine Whelan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She chose a degree in kinesiology because of her lifelong interest in anatomy and the way the body works. After finishing her undergraduate degree, she became a Certified Health and Fitness Specialist through American College of Sports Medicine. With the desire to achieve a more encompassing understanding of the body, Catherine attended Boulder College of Massage Therapy and became a licensed Massage Therapist. Catherine’s hands on experience and continued education led her ultimately to Upledger Craniosacral Therapy. She is a Diplomate level Craniosacral Therapist and now a certified instructor for the Upledger Institute.

Catherine has been working as a wellness professional for over seventeen years, learning from each client and medical professional she meets. Her background in kinesiology, personal training, craniosacral therapy, and massage therapy enables her to work in concert with osteopaths, MDs, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and other wellness professionals. Catherine has spent years working in medical settings that focus on chronic pain with an emphasis on fibromyalgia. Combining craniosacral therapy and kinesiology gives Catherine a unique therapeutic approach when dealing with injury and disease. She uses both passive soft tissue manipulations and active therapies during her sessions, focusing on education, and encourages personalized home exercises to help speed recovery and attain goals. Her curiosity and desire to learn enables her to tailor each session to the both client’s long-term and immediate needs.

Health is a lifelong journey with an ebb and flow; the more mindfulness we can bring to the journey, the more likely we are to succeed. Catherine understands the challenges and obstacles life can present and wants to help you succeed on your journey of conscious health and wellness.
